PBC's Representation on Policy Development Forums
Since its establishment in 2006, the Pakistan Business Council has developed an active role in Policy Advocacy. PBC is represented on various taskforces/ committees established by the Government of Pakistan and its various bodies to discuss and comment on new initiatives, reforms and developments.

Housing Advisory Group (HAG)
Formed by the State Bank of Pakistan to review the promotion and development of large scale housing and how issues hampering progress can be addressed.


Infrastructure Taskforce
Infrastructure taskforce has been created by the State Bank of Pakistan and is headed by the CEO of PBC. The objectives of the taskforce are to analyse the impediments in infrastructure development and how those can be addressed.


Infrastructure Project Development Facility (IPDF)
IPDF is a Government entity created by the Ministry of Finance to develop, facilitate and implement infrastructure projects. PBC is represented on the board of IPDF.


Holding Company Taskforce
At the initiative of the PBC officials from the CBR, SECP and ICAP formed a Holding Company Taskforce to address the issue of Group Relief. The proposals were accepted by the Government and incorporated in the Finance Act 2007. Now the committee is monitoring the implementation of the laws and discussing issues arising from it.


Special Economic Zones (SEZs)
A committee formed by the Ministry of Finance to enable the creation of SEZs in Pakistan. The committee is discussing the structural, legal and fiscal reforms and amendments required to create an enabling environment for SEZs.


Corporate Law Reform Committee (CLRC)
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan formed the CLRC to review corporate laws in Pakistan and recommend changes that are necessary in the light of new economic developments.
